So, you have a great idea for a website, and you’ve even got the perfect name for it. But, before you even think about writing one thing on your new website, you’ll first need to check to see that the domain name (the name of your website) is available. There are many websites you can do this on such as NameCheap.com or GoDaddy.com. If the name is already being used, but you still really want that name for your website, you’ll have to buy it from the current owner. So, how do you do that?

Network Solutions

Network Solutions is a website that you can find at NetworkSolutions.com. There you can type in the domain name that you want and the website will give you a list pertaining to that domain name. If you want to buy it, you can then click on the link within that page that says, “See options to get taken domain names.” This link will take you to a page where you can then make an offer on that site. Keep in mind though that you will usually need to make an offer that is $100 or greater.

Once you’ve done that, Network Solutions will send the offer to the current domain owner and the owner will then decide whether or not they want to sell the name of their website. Once they’ve decided, Network Solutions will let you know whether your offer has been accepted or declined.

When getting a web address the thing that is very important and always will be is the domain name. The new website is like buying a new house in many ways because it is your new home, sort of like the place you’ll be living on the net.

Buying domain names is actually very easy and often times cheap. It’s picking the right one that is the hardest thing to do and usually takes longer then buying one. Keep in mind that the domain name that you pick can either help your site out or cause it to go downhill. Having a domain name that is successful usually causes your business or website to grow and take off in the right direction but if the name doesn’t sound right or flow together with the theme it might bring confusion and cause people to leave the website after they visit it.

The other thing that is very easy to do is register the domain and usually they just ask for some personal information. This part often times is done within just a few minutes.

Here are some tips for buying domain names:

- When you have decided on a name always do a deep research on the name. Find any pros or cons about the name.

- Always stick with names related to your website because this can help with selling products and getting more traffic.

- Some names might already have a trademark and so you’ll need to check and make sure that it doesn’t or that nothing else is attached with it.

- Come up with a very catchy name and try making it stand out.

If you see names that might be similar it’s always a good idea to try and pick something else that is more unique but yet still has the same theme.
